Carlsberg Special Brew is a distinctive strong lager with a long-established identity and strong brand recognition.

The challenge was to develop a new packaging design that reinforced the product’s character while retaining its familiar visual identity.

Working as a Senior Designer at Holmes & Marchant International in Marlow, I was involved in developing the Carlsberg Special Brew packaging design.

The design combined the iconic Carlsberg lettering and crown emblem with the brand’s distinctive gold, burgundy and white colour palette. Particular attention was given to the prominent Special Brew typography and the overall balance of the packaging.

The objective was to create a bold, recognisable design with strong shelf presence, while maintaining the product’s established heritage and premium positioning.

The result was a confident packaging identity that brought together traditional brand elements with a clear and consistent presentation.

This project formed part of my earlier career in international branding and packaging design, before establishing Juice Factory Design Consultants.
